The Myth of the Rhea Woman

Deep Space Myths Series
BOOK ONE

“Weird things happen on weird planets like Lenboor.”

Harold Lonfor and Markus Smith, two life-long friends, set out for Lenboor, a remote mining planet that has been attracting millions of human tourists in recent decades. Promises of spiritual enlightenment and even physical healing—using ancestral psychedelics—are advertised on Terra.

Harold wants to go there to see a girl he met five years ago during an unforgettable summer when they were both sixteen. Markus’s reason for the trip is to escape the lingering consequences of an accident. He survived a fatal dose of radiation. By all accounts he shouldn’t have. Now, hooked on the stories of miracles that can happen on this planet, he hopes to obtain what science can’t provide—a cure.

They plan to spend their summer break on Lenboor and come back to Terra for their senior year at college. But things are not going to be so simple for them. Munro Fedor, a twenty-five-year-old man, who grew up on Lenboor, has one goal: to avenge his late grandfather, who died in suffering and madness. And for reasons shrouded in mystery, the person who must pay for that misery is none other than Harold Lonfor.

Is this summer break destined to become a descent into nightmares? Will our young protagonists survive and go back home in one piece? Will they find out that the myths of Lenboor are truer than those of Terra? Is the myth of the rhea woman, with her surreal allure, truly real?
